China and Sri Lanka have deepened economic and trade cooperation, with China now ranking as Sri Lanka's second-largest trading partner and second-largest source of imports. In 2024, bilateral trade between the two countries surged by over 30 percent year on year, reaching $5.36 billion. China's exports accounted for $4.97 billion, while imports from Sri Lanka totaled $392 million.

Sri Lanka will be the guest country of honor at the 9th China-South Asia Expo, set to take place from June 19 to 24 in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province. CGTN breaks down the highlights of this growing partnership in the following graphic.
