BEIJING, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Wednesday sent a message of condolence to his Sri Lankan counterpart, Vijitha Herath, over the severe flooding in the country.

In his message, Wang, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, expressed shock upon learning about the significant casualties and property losses caused by continuous heavy rainfall and extreme weather in Sri Lanka.

Wang mourned the deceased and extended sincere sympathy to the bereaved families and the affected people.
