1 killed, 17 injured after tree falls on Sri Lankan school building

COLOMBO, June 12 (Xinhua) -- A student was killed and 17 others were injured after a tree fell onto a school building in Balangoda in Sri Lanka's Sabaragamuwa Province on Thursday, police reported.

The deceased student was 17 years old, and the injured students have been hospitalized for treatment, according to police.

Local police were conducting further investigations into the incident.
