UK branches of Borders to be sold

The Borders bookshop chain in the UK wants to quickly find a buyer for the business.
A takeover deal involving WHSmith was quashed before the weekend when the Smith interests walked away.
Borders has reportedly been concerned it does not have enough cash to see it through until Christmas and believes it is likely to go into administration without a swift sale.
Like all city booksellers, the chain has suffered from increased competition from online retailers. Email this story to a friend
