Obama and McCain stir each other on economic matters
Sri Lankan News.Net Thursday 7th August, 2008
White House hopeful John McCain has suggested what he calls a "policy surge" to balance the teetering US economy.
McCain, despite new polls that show Barack Obama is leading the economy, said the right approach to stem a tidal wave of job losses and home foreclosures would be to create an economic surge to keep jobs turning over.
The Republican presidential candidate, speaking at a cabinet factory in the state of Ohio said: "Our surge has succeeded in Iraq militarily. Now we need new markets for US goods abroad, lower healthcare costs and for an assault on out-of-control spending by the government and Congress.”
McCain called for lower business taxes and said his rival Barack Obama would raise taxes on business, income and investment.
McCain said: "Raising taxes in a bad economy is about the worst thing you can do because it will kill even more jobs when what we need are policies that create jobs."
Barack Obama later savaged the Arizona senator as a self-promoter who could not fix Washington's fractured policies.
Obama said he agreed with McCain's recent assertion that America's dependence on foreign oil had been caused by the failure of Washington politicians to think for the long-term over the past 30 years.
"What Senator McCain neglected to mention was that during those 30 years, he was in Washington for 26 of them," he said.
A recent CNN poll has said Obama is, by a 54-43 percent margin, seen as the better choice to fix the faltering economy, which is well ahead of the Iraq war as voters' top concern.
Another poll by Time magazine gave Obama a 43-39 percent edge on the economy.

Before you blame, American people ought to ask ourselves first, how much my education level, my skill background and job experience, how my creative & productive job-performance, my capability, sincerity & loyalty to my company can share these day’s global economic hardship and working for our America’s economy recovery ? How you compare the black Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama’s economic policy with the 2008 Presidential Hopeful Sen. JOHN McCAIN’s low-tax, lower healthcare costs, smaller federal government budget, more “Made-in-USA” American exported goods abroad. Do you think a black man Obama just knows how to tax the corporate (windfall) tax, to tax the rich to feed the poor, more employer’s healthcare + pension + paid sick-offdays such a hippopotamus opens a big mouth to sing the Democrat’s good old day song to run the States' economy ? Wrong ! Obama’s more corporate (windfall) tax to the oil corporations or the Fortune 500, 1000 corporations ONLY will push for smaller size of workforce, less jobs opportunities and no trainee jobs to give the new college graduates a chance to start a career. Do you really think a blue-collar unemployed can take welfare, food stamps and go to the job training center to learn how to operate a computer, type several words on several computer software can survive on the good old Clinton-Gore years' of re-training welfare program for the unemployed and the needy blacks or Latinos ? Obama’s economic policy WON’T save you but Sen. JOHN McCAIN’s economic policy on 2-year community college or 1-year vocational school certificate program could change your life to a new Transforming Lives. You don’t blame you have lost your mortgage & homeownership because the White House, you should blame youself don’t have enough skill and education to make enough income to support a homeownership.
Lately in the meanwhile the black Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is campaigning nationwide, don’t know WHY more-and-more blacks robberies gun-pointed to the Asian restaurants 2,3 times per week in Bay Area like in City of Oakland ? Is it really because people hearing too much about Obama from the TV media lately to give the blacks a gut ?

Good luck finding someone dumb enough to want the job.
` ~galljdaj+;95319: ... . And FIND TWO REAL CANDIDATES at the coming Conventions!
These two are both corporate shills!
If they want it they are either power hungry or stupid.
No matter what they do one side or the other will hate them and attack them.
The world press will villify them and idiots like you who have never done a thing in you rentire miserable life will attack them from the shadows.
But yea both these candidates are broken goods.
